Review - Jim Flynn Maine-USA
September 4, 2006
Did you know this about Artist's Carousel's very talented "Nelson and The Stagecoach"?
Nelson has a wonderful philosophy, -- whenever you take ride on Nelson's Stagecoach, sit back, relax, and take a pleasant musical journey through Nelson's songs where you'll meet different kinds of people, situations, and places.
Some of Nelson's musical journeys are historical and some are in the present. In Nelson's words, "the world keeps spinning like the wheels of a stagecoach and we're all passengers on a great adventure." It's exciting, adventurous, and interesting to ride with Nelson and find yourself in another man's dream. In fact on Artist's Carousel Comp #4, Nelson has a song on there called, "Other Man's Dream." It's got all the ingredients of a love story found in a western movie.
Believe it or not, Nelson started out playing the trumpet back in the '70's, but he quickly moved on to the guitar and started to write his own songs. In the '80's, his country style began to fall into place, but he mixed it in with a variety of other musical genres. He eventually found the style that suited him most and then he got "country" serious.
In 2002, Nelson started his own studio, The Longhorn Studio, and he began to write more country songs. His friend, Lars Frykman, joined him in the studio and they recorded two small productions. They also named themselves, Nelson and The Stagecoach. It wasn't long before two special songs were written for a group of line dancers called the "Lucky Kickers." The songs were "Sweet Kicker," and "Big City Cowboy." Choreographer, Lottie Hertzman, created special dances for the songs and the combination of those songs with the special dances was very successful.
In August of 2004, Nelson worked with Hans Nilsson at Pon Studios in Hasslarp, a small sleepy town in southern Sweden. The result of this collaboration was Nelson's wonderful first country album, "I Go To Sleep Laughing And Wake Up With A Smile."
Nelson has a great country voice. His music is doing very well in the indie world. He gets a lot airplay, and he places a lot of songs on the various indie charts. Nelson and The Stagecoach is a world class country act, and Artist's Carousel is very proud to have Nelson on it's label.

Nelson And The Stagecoach
Winners & Losers
PON RECORDS
When you listen to Nelson And The Stagecoach then you listen to Swedish country when it’s
at its prime. I have to have more than one glance on the performers list to realise that this CD
actually originates from Sweden . It sounds like it could come from Nashville.
B-O Nelson has written all lyrics and music, sings and plays the guitar.
On the CD you’ll find the tunes “Crazy” and “X-road” which was released earlier on a
promotion CD. But these both tunes are just two of eleven more “goodies” such as
“Wanted man, “Walk away” etc. It’s hard to choose one that’s best, they all are.
B-O Nelson has composed wonderful country songs with swiftness yet not to speedy.
This is good country, not something produced in a hobby workshop.
Nelson and the Stagecoach have an uniform style without being boring.
The saddest thing is when the cd ends, but on the other hand you’ve got yourself a strong
dose of good country music. Quite simply you cannot find any poor tracks on this CD.
It will undoubtedly give it self credit even in Nashville. A place where now also a lot of
poptracks are put into the country music simply to keep the sales statistics on a high rate.
You’ll find no such thing on Nelsons latest CD, just good vocal cords and music which gives
this production a lifetime warranty.
Nelson and the Stagecoach brings us pure country
without cajolery poptunes. That’s the way it should be.
Lennart Götesson - Dalademokraten - 30 September 2005
Buy this CD if you want to listen to good Swedish Country!

Nelson And The Stagecoach - Winners & Losers
COUNTRY
I must confess, that this is not a music genre which belongs to my everyday world.
It’s not a musical area I feel convenient with. Although I feel like an elephant moving around
in a china shop, my clumsiness is completely vanished when the CD starts to let go of its tunes.
Suddenly I get a feeling of saloon doors opening and an old American wild west bar suddenly
appears in front of me. In a fog of cigar smoke the visions are overwhelming and changing
quickly as lightning. Someone drives you crazy, somebody thinks he’s in love and somehow
something made the third person stuck here forever. Amongst cowboys tipple their
whiskeys and kicking cancan girls, flourishes jackpots, exploration and ingratiation. Wanted
men and heartbreaking scenes.
Winners or Losers? For Nelsons part this has to be a leap into
the first category. A merit must, however, be made to the elite of the musicians from
Helsingborg . These background chaps show us that gold is not an unreachable utopia.

Nelson And The Stagecoach
Winners & Losers
Review of Göran
Nelson and The Stagecoach have now released their eagerly awaited CD number two.
13 tracks with new composed wholehearted country songs, all of them written
by B-O Nelson. This is what real country should sound like!
The production is also a clear sign of that Swedish country still is alive.
The tunes “Crazy” and “X-road” were released on a promotion CD at the Country Fair
in Berlin and was immediately met with a great reception, which gives Nelson good
hopes to reach beyond Sweden with his music.

Pete Smith, The Advertiser (UK) |
A country band from northern Europe, Nelson and the Stagecoach.
The band received considerable attention at the country fair in Berlin when they released two songs, “Crazy” and “X-Road”, both written by the good Mr. B-O Nelson.
These songs plus eleven more Nelson originals have been released as “Winners And Losers” on Pon Records.
The programme is generally uptempo with beat ballads like “Wanted Man” and “Sleepy Town” and the swing of “What My Heart Needs Now”. “Stuck In Mexico” naturally has a south of the border
influence and there is a western feel to “Heartache City”. An impressive second album for Mr. Nelson and his crew.

Behind the name is a Swedish singer by the name B-O Nelson and musicians like
Soren Madsen and Bo Eriksson on steel and guitars and Bo Wilson on guitars.
All the songs on the album are written by B-O Nelson and the group have a homepage
www.stagecoach.se there you can see that the album is played here and there.
It is a little bit western movie over it and in some way the album feels like a western version
of the Swedish Refreshments.
It has a good swing and Swedish musician have another sound than the Americans.
Some tracks get stuck, like “Crazy”, “Stuck in Mexico”, “Heartache city” and
“Somebody, somewhere, somehow”.
Indubitable this is a very ambitious project and a new way within Swedish country music.
